If you are thinking about activities in Malta in May, then you should not worry. The month of May, as summer is approaching and the level of water temperature is rising, will be a great month to visit the best beaches of Malta. You will not have to worry still about too high temperatures but the sun is going to be strong that most sensitive skin must be covered with sunscreen. Saturday 4th – Sunday 5th May: Medieval Mdina Festival
Two days of historical reinterpretation in historical costumes on the streets, with a series of staged various events of medieval Maltese history, all in the narrow streets of Mdina, the ancient Maltese capital during the Middle Ages. More information on the official web page of the event.
The first week of May: Valletta Green Festival
Yearly, this Festival transforms one of the main squares in Valletta, Pjazza San Ġorġ, with a colourful floral carpet made from approximately 80,000 plants. Each year a family-friendly program of activities happening in the city and around has established this weekend festival as an interesting platform for initiatives promoting environmental awareness on the Maltese Islands.
Saturday 11th – Sunday 12th: May Spring Fair – Victoria
May is probably one of the best times to visit Gozo, Malta’s younger sister, smaller but also greener. But there are not only walks to do, the centre of Victoria hosts-inside Villa Rundle – a market dedicated to spring, with food, local crafts and activities for children.

Mid-May: Rock the South
Rock the South has established itself as one of the most popular Maltese local alternative music festivals in the past years. This festival usually takes place at Zion bar in Marsascala.
Last week of May: Malta Fashion Week
The Malta Fashion Awards creates a space where talented individuals working in Malta’s fashion industry have the opportunity to become recognised. This much-anticipated event gathers fashionistas for a week of shows, parties, and events that showcase some of Malta’s highest talents – from models to fashion designers, stylists, make-up artists, videographers and photographers, fashion bloggers and writers.
